HI, Like your cousin, I live in the Atlanta area. I've been looking at posts and on YouTube to see if there's anyone who's built an upholstered bed and your spot came up. However, I see there was a problem so I'll continue to look and perhaps do it in my own head before moving forward with this project. There's lots of headboard tutorials out there, I've got that part down, but now want to/thinking about the rest of the bed. Thanks for allowing me to peek inside your blog, hope I can find that cross legged bench again, that would be a neat thing to upholster too.
I just started reading your blog and I see you wonderful baseboard heat. We had that same type of register when we had gas fired hot water heating in an old Italianate house. When the plumbers got there, I realized that if I took the fancy top baseboard off and put a spacer in that I could paint those to match the dark walnut stain of all of the 10" baseboard. I took it to Sherwin Williams and had them mix the color in a paint that would withstand the heat. When the put this in front of the big plain baseboard and put a spacer on top of the plain wood and then put the fancy top piece on that was all stained and it looked so nice! It didn't stand out like this white horrible box taking away from my beautiful wood. It all worked and nobody noticed the baseboard heating. Just an idea that I know works for that type of heating register! Love your house!!!
I love hearing from you! Thanks for taking the time to leave me a note. If your e-mail address is visible I'll reply to you by e-mail. if not, I'll leave follow up comments here in the comments section.
