The Reveal | Our Newly Upholstered Sofa

I've given you a few sneak peeks of my big sofa project and today I'm so excited to share the finished product in all her buttery soft, velvety, ivory goodness (pretty much the exact opposite of the slippery, cold, dark sofa I started with).

Taaaaaa daaaaa!


Let's jump right in with the before and after, shall we?


I have loved snuggling up on the soft new upholstery this past week or so and perhaps equally love that my pillows no longer slide off onto the floor approximately 14 seconds after I put them back on the sofa from their previous slide.





I couldn't be happier that I took on this project.  More than any other upholstery project I've done, I had to swallow my doubts and just go for it and I am completely in love with the results.

    This looks awesome! You did a fantastic job! There's absolutely nothing wrong with my sofa, but seeing this transformation makes me a wee bit tempted to reupholster mine...

    You are my hero! AmAzInG! You give me hope that I can maybe tackle my chaise and I can't wait for your source list since I've been wanting to use a light fabric as well. Mine as a ton of button tufts though :(
    Anyway your sofa is gorgeous and you are awesome!

      You should go for it! There are lots of tutorials for button tufting out there. I've been thinking that should be my next upholstery hurdle, I love the look of it!

      Not yet...I realized a step-by-step tutorial wouldn't be that helpful because the work would vary based on the shape and size of the sofa. But, I'll share some of the techniques, tutorials, and sources that I used to do it. Hopefully either Friday this week or some time next week.

    Very impressive! The piping and nail head trim look so good. The sliding pillows would drive me crazy too, I can understand why that alone would be worth recovering the sofa haha

      All over! The far left was made from scrap fabric I had from Pottery Barn (Simone), the red from Pottery Barn, the middle from Home Goods, the blue from West Elm (Honeycomb Crewel), and the far right from One Kings Lane, though I've seen it stocked at Boston Interiors too.

    Our leather sofa is in my son's room now...It was too intimidating for me to reupholster. Just goes to show what willpower can do...very inspiring!

    All I can say is WOW! Your couch looks more than amazing!!! I can't wait to see your source of fabric. I have a couch and a couple of chairs that need redoing, but I've never once attempted to re-upolster anything...you inpsire me that just maybe I could figure it out. One of my chairs is a large wing back leather with all those nails around it. I hope you post a tutorial of your step by step process.
