Well. There's really no way around it.
The fall season is upon us. My oldest started kindergarten today and I had an awfully big lump in my throat as my little girl climbed on the big yellow school bus. She is still little and holds my hand in public and snuggles with me at bedtime and I will love her with my whole heart for my whole life no matter how big she is, but WOW, how is she old enough to go to the big kid school??
I have very mixed feelings about this fall. I'm a little extra nostalgic for summer because of this awareness of how fast my girls are growing up, but then I'm also sort of looking forward to some structure and schedules again. Funny how by the time summer comes, I'm so ready for lack of structure and by fall I'm so ready to have it again.
Regardless of my mixed feelings, and the hot and humid weather we're still having, the fall decorating season is definitely here. I'm not feeling quite ready to dive into pumpkins and mums and branches yet though, so I put together an "early" fall vignette in my front entryway.
I started with this quote (which I'm offering as a FREE printable for you, see below for details).
From there I added in some saturated color and deep metallics to give a vaguely fall feel. Baby steps.
